Happenings near our Home!

The bride strolls leisurely toward her groom.
The groom spends his final moments in prayer and contemplation.
A young homeschooling family arrives, anxiously awaiting the ceremony.

We thought you might enjoy seeing a some of the wildlife we enjoy, just a few blocks from our home. They are a beautiful reminder of God's amazing creation.

Now to tell you about Kelly's experience.

Several months ago, Kelly met a young lady who works in a store near us and began to enjoy talking with her whenever they would meet.
At some point she asked Kelly if she was a Christian, saying she noticed that she always appeared to be so joyful. Of course, Kelly answered that she was!
Kelly then asked her if she was a Christian, and she answered that she was.
After many more short talks, Kelly began to wonder if she really had a real understanding of Christ.
You know how we are always encouraging you to read your Bibles?

The Lord just keeps giving us the message, "read your Bible!"
Many people don't read the Bible. Many feel they already know pretty well what's in there so there's really no need to read it some more! :) I'm not saying this is the case with this young woman, but sometimes people can believe they are Christians because they went to church as a child, intend to go to church, were born in Texas :), are an American and the list goes on. We have met several young ladies whose stories would make you smile.
Kelly felt this young lady really might benefit from a good book that
would explain clearly about Christ.
She bought her "What Every Christian Ought to Know" by the late Adrian Rogers.
Then it was just a matter of giving the book to the right girl!
First, we put the book in the car so it would always be handy. Great idea...except unfortunately, every time we drove right past the store, we were in the wrong car!
So we decided it would be best to make a special trip and complete the deed!
However, when we arrived, she had taken the night off. :(
We decided to try again the following evening. We prayed that the Lord would allow it to be the right timing. Kelly walked in and gave her the book. There was a customer right at the counter and when she saw the book she said very excitedly
"Oh, what book is it? Let me see. Let me see!"
Then, when she saw the book she said in a very disgusted tone, "Ohhh, Christian literature."

This left the young lady very perplexed, torn between the two sides. Kelly immediately began
"I hope you really enjoy it and get a lot out of it. I know I did." The young lady said "When do I need to get it back to you?" Kelly- "It's yours to keep."

The young lady- "I thought that you just found a book laying around the house that you wanted me to borrow." Kelly- "Oh no. You keep it, I bought it just for you!" At this point the young lady said "Oh thank you. I'll be sure to read it." The other woman walked off in disgust.

1Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people;
that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."

What cute little ducklings! :D

Wow, the judgemental woman in the shop sounds terrible. That's really sad! :(

Too funny about always driving past in the wrong car though! That sounds like something that would happen to me!

Wow. How wonderful. And you never know how you could impact other people who seem to be against you (like that lady). I'll be praying for both of them!

Prayers for both of these ladies. Who knows, the Lord may have used that act to plant a seed in the rude customer's life. What a blessing to follow the Lord's leading in witnessing to this young lady. I pray she is receptive to the Word and the Holy Spirit's leading.
