Apple Picking

Just look at this beautiful countryside...
complete with a tree heavily laden with delicious crisp ripe apples!
Apple trees are not plentiful where we live, so this looks like it could be a fun new experience. These apples demand to be picked!
What a joy it is to have new experiences and learn new skills.
My precious new friend and companion, and a wonderful teacher also!
Greetings from the apple tree. I didn't even fall out!
We also picked and canned pears.
Stephen's sister and sister in law (below). We so enjoyed our time working together.
One of the joys of staying at home is cheerfully working alongside others. I hope all of you spend a lot of time doing projects together. The fellowship makes the work fun and the time passes pleasantly while you accomplish something worthwhile. Elizabeth is memorizing a poem "Against Idleness and Mischief" which was written by Isaac Watts (who lived from 1674-1748). The 3rd stanza says "In Works of Labour or of Skill, I would be busy too: For Satan finds some Mischief still, For idle Hands to do" There is nothing new under the sun, is there? (Ecc.1:9) Girls, use this season of your life to really add to your skills and become comfortable with all the homemaking duties. These skills will really pay off someday!

Three cheers for not falling out of the tree! That would not have been fun!

Wow, I'm guessing Steven's sister is in the middle? They really look alike! :)

Yum, this looks like a lot of fun! I went apple picking with one of my friends once. An elderly lady from our church asked if we wanted some apples and (of course) we said yes. It was a lot of fun, especially knowing what we were going to do with them... make apple pie. :)

Lauren has left a new comment on your post "Apple Picking":

That is funny--I never thought about there not being apple trees in Texas. Here in Washington, you see apples falling off and rotting on the ground. )-: Thanks for sharing your fun time--the C's are wonderful!

That's neat that you got to learn how to do that! It looks like you had fun! We were busy at Mrs. C's yesterday, making dinner and all! :) It was very fun! That's great that you had so much fun! Keep up the good work on your blog!
Love you all,
~Emily
